Charity Bid Writer

Charity Bid Writer

Orchard Fundraising is a specialist business, offering strategic consultancy and practical support to charities and not-for-profits across the UK. We continue to expand and are seeking experienced bid writers to join the team.

Bid writers work as part of an Orchard Fundraising team drafting trust applications on behalf of our charity customers. These roles are discussed and offered on the basis of your background, skills and interests and to suit your availability and ambitions. We support a diverse range of not-for-profit organisations, including community and sports groups, charities, CICs, etc working across social welfare, heritage, environmental, medical, religious, development and educational sectors. We are committed to our own corporate social responsibility, including providing pro bono support for selected charities.

Bid writers are self-employed associates of Orchard Fundraising. Posts are part-time, initially anything from 6 to 24 hours per week, working from home. The roles are highly flexible and could fit around other commitments and lifestyle, with occasional meetings at mutually convenient times. Orchard Fundraising is proud of its highly personable approach to its associates and is adaptable to a wide range of working arrangements. Bid writers are supported in their team role, work alongside a friendly, experienced set of consultants and have the opportunity to develop professionally and personally. The working hours are flexible and adjustable and there is the potential to expand into wider consultancy roles.

Five years’ experience of similar fundraising work, perhaps as a fundraiser for a charity, is required. Associates must be highly reliable and have personal characteristics compatible with the company ethos. While Orchard Fundraising bid writers may have other employment or volunteer with charities, they cannot also be employed by other fundraising consultancies or agencies.

To apply, please send your CV and a covering note (max one page, including an outline of your availability).
