Orchard Fundraising is a specialist business, offering strategic fundraising consultancy and practical support to charities and not-for-profit organisations. The business continues to expand, and we are seeking “Client Leads” to join the team.

Client Leads are self-employed Associates of Orchard Fundraising, working from home, ideally between 24 and 32 hours per week. The role is highly flexible and could fit around other commitments and lifestyle, with periodic client and colleague meetings at mutually convenient times. Orchard Fundraising is proud of its highly personable approach to its Associates and is adaptable to a wide range of working patterns. If your availability and needs are outside these parameters, we may still be able to accommodate the right candidates.

The role is to be the lead for all Orchard Fundraising activities for a set of clients (typically 4 or 5 in due course). You will be the main point of contact and manage the work supporting each charity. You will be responsible for delivering the agreed fundraising strategy, setting the plan and supervising other Associates working for you in a matrix management system. At times, you will also need to be involved in application drafting for more complicated bids.

At least five years experience of charity fundraising is required, notably trusts and foundations, with expertise in one or more of HNWI, legacy, corporate, digital and individual an advantage. You are likely to have been in a senior and/or management role (or demonstrate the capabilities to develop the necessary skills). While no formal qualifications are needed, a Chartered Institute of Fundraising qualification or training would be preferable. Client Leads work as part of the wider Orchard Fundraising team, so there is always support, but it is necessary to be highly reliable, available for clients, a strategic thinker, able to remotely manage others and be highly self-sufficient. Having personal characteristics compatible with the company ethos is essential.

While Orchard Fundraising has clients throughout the UK, nearly all work is conducted remotely, and visits are rare. We have a concentration of clients in Gloucestershire, Herefordshire, Bristol and surrounding counties, so living in (or knowledge of) these areas would be beneficial.

Before applying for a role with Orchard Fundraising, you should consider:
-
You will not become a millionaire as a result of your pay from Orchard Fundraising. While we offer high-average market rates and being paid for your efforts is clearly important, if personal wealth is your primary motivation, you are not suitable for Orchard Fundraising.
-
We believe that a major attribute of the role is its flexibility, working from home to your own timetable and that it can fit comfortably into your lifestyle (within reason). You will be supported by a team of friendly and experienced fundraisers, and the role is highly adaptable.
-
A key motivation for the role should be the enthusiasm to support small and medium charities and deliver fundraising results for their beneficiaries. (You can express a preference for the types of charities you will work with and be matched according to your interests, availability and skill set.)
-
We pay travel and expenses where appropriate but not pension contributions or other income. You are responsible for your own tax payments.
-
Associates cannot compete with Orchard Fundraising for new business. Some Associates also work for charities directly (as independent fundraisers) but cannot work for other consultancies related to fundraising or similar activities.
If you are looking for a highly flexible role that fits your lifestyle, please send your CV and a short covering note to admin@orchardfundraising.co.uk Please include a note that you have read this description.
